Where neither life nor death
Live out or die in
Their entirety

The translucent ones
Have begun speaking
To themselves again

Tho' barely clinging
To the thinning ambiance,
These once ineffectual ghosts
No longer approach me
In slowing flows of motion
Like I'd grown accustomed to
My whole life

But instead come at me
In quick, jerky movements
Sickening my balance
And distorting my senses

Having seen my overreaction
To the terrifying distance
They’d covered between us
In just a blink’s time

They won’t stop staring at me
Through their dead,
Daring me to blink again eyes;

I won't blink

Regardless what Purple Dreams
Might come scrawling through

But then I do blink
When grotesque winds scrape by
On faux hope

And the translucent ones
Stop talking to themselves
In order
To speak before me

Gut wrenching
Like finger nails
Down a black board

'At last...

…None with the world'

My dreaded truth
Firmly reinstated
In sentient nightmare

And to my horror,
Blink again
As light's beauty turns,

Bruised with a final scar
